Catalog description

Introductory course on numerical analysis. Topics include: Development of numerical techniques for accurate, efficient solution of problems in science, engineering, and mathematics through the use of computers. Linear systems, nonlinear equations, optimization, numerical integration, differential equations, simulation of dynamical systems, error analysis. Students are not allowed to take both MATH 302 and MATH 304 because of the content overlap. Students who are planning to major in Data Science should take MATH 304 instead, and those who have taken MATH 302 may not major in Data Science. 001094
