The course begins with a brief overview of sequences and series followed by an introduction to probability theory and statistics. It covers basic concepts of probability, independence, conditional probability, random variables, with emphasis on probability distributions that frequently arise in applications. Convergence in distribution and convergence in probability; the central limit theorem, and the weak law of large numbers.
