Catalog description

This course focuses on the causes of human behavior related to critical thinking and the development of specific literacies – digital, data, visual, media, and technology – and the ways that social structures apply to finding, evaluating, and effectively using different types of information. In this course, students will develop analytical skills to examine the political and societal factors that influence literacy skills as they relate to information – its creation, availability, and application. We will examine the ethical, economic, and political issues inherent in the use and regulation of technology as they apply to the access and production of information. 001587
