World History and Asia

Catalog description

World History is the study of historical forces that are larger than any individual nation-state. Environmental change, religion, migration, trade, war, and migration are just some of the topics explored by world historians. 'World History and Asia' is a seminar-style course in which students will engage with critically respected transnational histories of Asia. Students learn concepts critical to the writing and conceptualization of world history and read fascinating scholarship that applies these ideas to the study of Asia. This class is designed to support the research and writing of Signature Work Projects. 002236
