Catalog description

This course explores the nature of historical change and continuity between the pre-modern era and our current era of global connectivity, taking students from ancient roots to global routes. Instead of a chronological survey, the focus is on broad subjects that cut across fields, regions, and periods. Students will have multiple opportunities to apply historical and interdisciplinary methods of research and analysis to investigate the formation and development of particular global issues, and compare historical and contemporary perspectives on these issues. Topics will vary by term and instructor. 001524
