This course is designed as an elective course on Research Methods for graduate students. The purpose of this course is to introduce several core methods that can be used to propose a research project as an applied economist. Topics covered in this course include quantitative and qualitative methods, as well as experimental and quasi-experimental research designs, such as randomized control trials and difference-in-differences. This course will not focus on the econometrics itself. Instead, its objective is to help students build a toolkit box so that they can employ the appropriate technique for their research. We will achieve this goal mainly by reading and discussing classic research papers in applied economics, and students are required to finish all tasks assigned along with the lectures. 002255
