Signature Work Capstone I
Duke University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
Capstone courses provide a mechanism to allow time for students to focus on completing their signature work and producing the final product. The nature of the capstone is like an independent study where the frequency and format of the meetings are agreed upon by the mentor and student. This structure applies to team projects as well individual signature work. Capstones are taken sequentially in any of the first 3 sessions of the senior year. The grade for Capstone I functions as a mid-term review that evaluates the progress made to date. The instructor of record is the student's mentor. Only students with Senior Standing and having passed the basic Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training provided by CITI Program can enroll this course. 001163
