This course examines the study of ethical issues emerging from technological advancements in biomedical research using a combination of disciplines including biology, philosophy, and law. Topics discussed may include disease diagnostics quandaries (pre-natal as well as elderly); genetic modification of animals and plants for agriculture, and of humans for disease relief; and animal rights with regard to research, farm, and home. The legal aspects of genomics, cloning and diagnostics will also be discussed. 001431
