Catalog description
This course examines how plants, animals and microbes respond physiologically (maintain homeostasis) despite changes and challenges in biotic and abiotic components of the environment. Organisms may ultimately be limited by their ability to physiologically respond to changes and challenges including light, temperature, pH, water, carbon and nutrient availability. Response to environmental change will be evaluated at multiple levels of the biological hierarchy and over evolutionary time. This course will include a detailed review of physiology and molecular biology and will include a lab component. 001422
