Catalog description

Through this course, students will gain a deeper appreciation of how the behavior of individuals is influenced by macroscopic factors: group memberships and identity, commercial and political institutions, and cultural and societal norms. Sample topics include voting behavior, legal decision making, how diversity shapes group dynamics, cross-cultural differences in perception and decision making, and the rise and fall of cultural memes. The course will also explore the incorporation of behavioral science into public policy through 'nudges' that can shape individual behavior. 001806
