Catalog description

This is a course about the politics, policy and ethical dilemmas surrounding information and technology. The course will explore technology; not only about how to use technology nor even simply how people, groups or organizations use technology, but how politicians, policymakers, economists, citizens and society watchers talk about, worry about and understand technology. The class will explore digital equity and the ethical dilemmas society confronts by technology's use and misuse. It will also examine other technologies: phones, networks, etc., as well as uses, artificial intelligence, social media and more.
