Catalog description

Class explores digital and traditional materials, methods & processes; historical, cultural and applied & entangled development through seminar and applied projects, experimental critical making. Material processes include 3-d printing, traditional modeling, analog photography, print making, moving film, animation. Projects employ tools and process w/ focus on experimental and alternative processes combining digital, traditional media. Emphasis on critical design, integrative conceptual design processes, incorporating historical and cultural understanding of processes as material. Previous art courses not required. Advanced students encouraged to develop personal projects or portfolio work.
