– This mandatory course for all fourth-year medical students will provide important information and tools to prepare medical students for their first year of residency. Topics covered include the following: providing compassionate and effective patient care, learning practical intern tips, further developing medical knowledge about established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and cognate sciences, honing interpersonal communication skills with patients/families/other health professionals, professionalism relative to responsibilities, adherence to ethical principles, sensitivity to a diverse patient population, and understanding systems-based practices. Students must enroll in the course for the Fall term and select '0' credits. They also will need to enroll for the Spring term and select 4 credits.
