Catalog description

The promote and teach selective will be offered to MBS students, providing an opportunity for students interested in advocacy and women's health. The course will be offered as part of the PROMOTE and TEACH grant sponsored by the National Institute of Health. The TEACH (ObsTetric HEAlth Equity ResearCH Mentoring (TEACH) Equity) portion of the grant provides mentored career development and an obstetric health disparities research program tailored to medical students and students in biomedical sciences. Students will work with a medical student and OB/GYN residents to analyze existing data collected as part of the program and will have access to the course online materials. Using a hands-on research approach, students will work on the review of data, literature review, participate in team meetings, abstract preparation, and manuscript development (when appropriate).
