This selective offers MBS students a unique opportunity to explore the field of physical therapy through direct clinical exposure. Hosted at the Duke Student Health Physical Therapy Clinic, which specializes in treating patients with musculoskeletal impairments, the course emphasizes evidence-based practice in an outpatient setting. Students will observe and engage in physical therapy assessments and interventions under the guidance of a board-certified orthopaedic and sports clinical specialist. The experience includes interactive discussions, hands-on learning, and opportunities to develop effective communication skills in a clinical environment. This course is ideal for students interested in gaining practical insight into physical therapy as part of a multidisciplinary approach to musculoskeletal health.
