Constructions of cultural identity; diplomacy and warfare between Indian nations and European invaders; trade, exchange networks, and Indian political economies; dynamics of cultural change, stability, and transformation as American Indians responded to and resisted Euro-American attempts at religious and cultural conversion, and political and economic conquest.
