Reimagining Latin America and The Caribbean

Catalog description

This course addresses the most critical problems and debates about Latin American and Caribbean history, culture, society, science, politics, inequality, human rights, and security. The course draws from the expertise of scholars, artists, and practitioners from Latin America and the Caribbean hosted by the Duke Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS) as Mellon Visiting Scholars, as well as Duke faculty and instructors part of the Council in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. Students gain direct access to understand key events and current scholarship, in addition to conceptual epistemological and ontological approaches from countries and regions of LA and the Caribbean.
