Exploration of ancient Germanic fantasy worlds with their gods, giants, dwarves, dragon-slayers, werewolves, shapeshifters, and witches. Readings of short texts and excerpts from myths, epics, legends, fairy tales, riddles, and incantations. Where do the figures, beasts, creatures appear and what cultural concerns do they represent. Concluding look at the survival and continuation of the Germanic tradition in modern and contemporary fantasy, from Tolkien to The Game of Thrones.
