Catalog description

From the French concept of terroir to Tahitian fenua, this course will use Global French voices to explore how cultures conceive of land, knowledge, and being as integral to each other. We will explore how those concepts inform our identities and communities through a strong emphasis on experiential learning, including community engagement, and work with local artists, fromagers and farmers. Meanwhile, we will further develop communication skills in French, reviewing grammar and vocabulary and learning to express ourselves and understand others in increasingly complex and abstract ways. Pre-requisite: FR203, AP French 4, or equivalent. Not open to students who have already taken FR204.
