With over seven billion people, humans currently dominate almost all corners of the globe. Indeed, human relatives have been making large-scale migrations for almost two million years with important cultural and biological consequences for our species. Each week will cover a theme or time period related to the causes and consequence of human migrations. The focus will be on biological, environmental, and cultural drivers of human migration, as well as the impact of migration events on human populations through an evolutionary perspective. We will consider a range of data types, with an emphasis on genetic and archeological information.
