Duke University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
The course will start in the classroom by developing a fundamental understanding of rangeland ecology, management, and conservation. Course contents will focus on current literature, with small student groups expected to begin developing their own ideas for mini projects to be undertaken during the field component of the course. The field component will take place over Spring Break with travel to active research sites that focus on rangeland ecology (e.g., Sevilleta and Jornada research stations in New Mexico). Upon return, students will write a project manuscript with analyses. Recommended prerequisites in undergraduate ecology or environmental science.
