Applied Environmental Policy Analysis

Catalog description

Environmental policy issues are questions about what governments should – or should not – do to address environmental problems. What should governments do about water pollution? Land use change? Biodiversity loss? Climate change? This course explores ways to identify, examine, and design policy solutions to environmental problems like these and others, while practicing concrete policy analysis skills. Students will hone skills in effective written and oral communication, applying ethical frameworks to environmental decision making, and conducting policy analysis on a range of possible topics using different modes of inquiry. Prerequisite: ENVIRON 201. ENVIRON 155 or equivalent highly recommended.
