Primarily field-based exploration of the geological and ecological evidence for climatically-driven change and its distinct influence on the development of early Northern European civilization. Special emphasis on the relationship between climate change and human adaptation at the end of the last Ice Age, during the Medieval Warm Period, the Little Ice Age, and to modern anthropogenic global warming.
