Catalog description

Students will use a combination of news articles and research papers to study the problems faced by the world's poor and to analyze specific policies that have been designed to resolve them. The broad goal of this course is to learn how to use econ models, empirical analysis, and experiments 'in the field' to gain a deeper understanding of poverty, in order to design and implement more effective policies in the future. Prerequisite: Economics 201D and calculus.
