Financial and Managerial Accounting

Catalog description
The course provides a foundation for understanding and using accounting information, starting with basic concepts underlying financial reports prepared to inform external users such as investors and lenders. Building on those basic concepts, students will be introduced to the use of accounting information for internal decision-making and performance evaluation. The course will focus on climate-related applications, such as incorporating climate and sustainability considerations in operating and investing decisions. Students will also develop the ability to communicate effectively in financial terms to both internal and external users of accounting information. This course is for MBCS students.
