Catalog description
An overview of principles involved in the design and fabrication of multicellular networks, tissues and organs. Through discussion of recent scientific literature the topics covered include key properties in organ and tissue function, differentiation of stem cells, organoid development, and microphysiological systems. Applications presented include normal and disease models, assessment of drug metabolism, and toxicity of environmental pollutants. Prerequisite: BME 305L, 306L, or 307, or graduate student standing.
