Valuation and Fundamental Analysis

Catalog description

How does one identify under-valued and over-valued stocks based on financial statement information? That is the focus of this course, using cases developed from (real) financial statements. It provides students with a strong theoretical and practical understanding of equity valuation and stock selection methods used by financial managers, investment professionals, securities analysts, and portfolio managers. It covers several approaches including relative valuation (price-multiples) and discounted attributes models (such as free cash flows and residual income), focusing on their implementation using financial statement data and accompanying notes. This course is designed for Daytime MBA and Accelerated Daytime MBA students. Recommended prerequisite: Accounting 590.
