Catalog description

Introduction to Pharmacology and Infectious Disease Principles: This course is intended to provide the PA student with an understanding of the basic pharmacological concepts of pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, drug metabolism and drug interactions. It will also include descriptions of the pathogens that can cause infections of various organ systems, their clinical syndromes, treatment and prevention, and define nosocomial infections in terms of morbidity, mortality, and their associated costs to the general population and the healthcare system – 6 week session. Fall I - Phase I.
