Catalog description
This course provides an introduction to the profession of OT including its history, professional framework, regulatory entities and organizations, theories and practice models. Students will gain exposure to the OTPF and learn how to apply it within evidence-based and client-centered practice. The lab component of this course introduces students to skills and techniques used across practice settings including activity analysis, clinical documentation, and facilitation of occupation-focused groups - 3 lecture hours. Prerequisite: Acceptance into the accelerated OTD program. Co-requisite: OTL 4012 - lab.
