MBAH 5410 Pharmaceutical and Biotech Industry -- Pharmaceuticals and biotech are an important source of health improvements. Accordingly, understanding the forces shaping new drug development and access to medicines is an important concern of public health. This course provides an introduction to the pharmaceutical industry. It begins with an overview of the history of the industry, its evolution, and its unique economics, then students critically examine a range of policy issues related to pharmaceuticals, biotech, and public health.
