Explore your inner composer and find your own creative voice. Learn to compose and critically listen to the music of diverse genres and styles. Investigate music, history and cultural background of various musical types and historical periods including World, Classical, Jazz and Popular Music. You will learn the fundamentals of music composition and/or improve compositional skill and create a composition inspired by the music discussed. No prior musical knowledge is required for enrolling in lower division.
