Catalog description

This course introduces California’s curriculum frameworks and academic content standards for science, history-social science, visual and performing arts, physical education, and health. Candidates utilize a backwards design approach to create integrated, thematic lessons and units for the elementary grades. Candidates learn to engage and support all students in learning through the development and maintenance of a caring, responsive classroom environment. Concurrently, candidates participate in fieldwork experiences to apply their developing understandings of teaching and learning.
