Catalog description

This course adopts a scientific approach to understanding the behaviors, thoughts, and feelings associated with music. Students will increase their scientific literacy by reading and presenting texts that relate music perception and music performance to topics from Introduction to Psychology. These topics include Biological Psychology, Sensation; Perception, Learning, Cognition, Development, Social Psychology and Cultural Psychology. The course is appropriate for music novices and music experts alike. This course fulfills the Oral Communication (R) GE requirement.
