Catalog description

Statistical theory will provide an introduction to the mathematical ideas underlying multivariate statistical models, point estimation, hypothesis testing, and decision theory. In addition to providing a basis for understanding the theoretical underpinnings of statistics, the course will also highlight applications. Special topics may include statistical machine learning, Monte Carlo methods, and large sample theory.
