Catalog description

In “War, Wealth, and World Politics” we’ll explore the complex relationships between economic interests, political power, and war in international relations. The course will examine the role of states, international and domestic institutions, and nongovernmental organizations in shaping the interplay between war, wealth, and world politics. We’ll take a problem centric approach, using the theoretical and analytical tools used by social scientists studying international relations. The course will also introduce students to the ways researchers use data to test theories and solve tangible problems in world politics.
