XPL 199
High Impact Experiential Learning
Davidson College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
199 enables students to engage in personal, professional, cultural and academically relevant experiences for academic credit. Students engage immersive, reflective learning experiences with guidance and support from High Impact Practices (HIP) centers. Students in each section of XPL 199 participate in similar types of HIP experiences, individualized and tailored to their needs and interests. Students gather once every other week with the instructors, to reflect on their experiences with other members of the Davidson community, share critical learning moments, and seek peer guidance. A minimum of one section of the course is offered each semester. Students should contact the instructor, as there is an application process for this course. Note: The B section in the fall of 2026 is reserved for pre-health students. See the application for more information.
