Contemporary Theatre and Performance: Trends in Theatre Studies

Catalog description
This course introduces students to current artists, working methodologies, and scholarship within the fields of theatre and performance. The course focuses on ways broader cultural dialogues about identity-sexuality, race, gender, class, ability-and technological innovation influence what appears on-stage, and the ways that audiences and critics think and write about these performances. Course includes field trips to see live performances. This is a community-based learning course and includes a collaboration with a local community group. Satisfies Visual and Performing Arts requirement. Prerequisites & Notes One previous THE course required or permission of instructor Offered every other year.
