This course explores theories of gender and sexuality from both North and South and their dialogue with transnational American cultural production. Throughout the semester, we will consider a diverse group of U.S. Latina/o and Latin American literary texts, films, and performances and investigate their construction of sexual, gendered, national, and ethnic identities. A substantial final research project will be required. Conducted in Spanish. Prerequisites & Notes Limited to juniors and seniors. Instructor permission required.
