101 is an interdisciplinary introduction to the study of South Asia. The course draws on the expertise of faculty across multiple disciplines to examine the region’s historical, social, cultural, religious, and economic contexts. It explores South Asia’s significance in global history and contemporary society, considering how its traditions, histories, and communities have shaped and been shaped by the wider world. Satisfies the Cultural Diversity requirement. Satisfies an interdisciplinary minor requirement in South Asian Studies: Themes, Topics, and Perspectives
