Catalog description
This is an overview of the life, thought, and literary and artistic traditions of Muslim South Asia from the 16 th -20 th century with a particular emphasis on the era before India’s independence (and partition). We will travel back and forth in time across these centuries and across South Asian spaces. The theme changes in the course’s different iterations. This one zooms in on LOVE and LITERATURE in Muslim South Asia. Satisfies Religious Studies major and minor requirement. Satisfies South Asian Studies minor requirement. Satisfies Philosophical and Religious Perspectives requirement. Satisfies Curltural Diversity requirement.
