Catalog description

This course is designed to facilitate an understanding of changes in the field of psychology over time. Students will consider the social, historical, and cultural contexts in which psychology developed and continues to evolve. This course will also highlight the contributions of women and people of color, often overlooked in psychology’s origin stories, and facilitate discussions of critical social issues in the history of the field (e.g., eugenics, racism, and sexism). Prerequisites & Notes Limited to Psychology seniors except by permission of the department.
