PSY 368
Community Psychology Seminar
Davidson College · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
In this seminar, students will explore how experiences of mental health, development, and wellness are influenced by broader social systems, including educational, legal, healthcare, and economic opportunity systems. Through interactions with scholarly research, media, and guest speakers, students will investigate and discuss how these broader systems can promote and/or inhibit positive outcomes related to mental health, development, and wellness. Students will also consider how broader systems may contribute to differential outcomes for diverse individuals and communities, which can facilitate equity or inequity. Finally, students will explore how these broader systems have been changed in the past and how community psychology values, practices, and research can support efforts to make systems function more equitably in the future.
