Advanced Seminar: Psychology of Women: Critical Perspectives on Race, Class, and Gender

Catalog description

This class will address the psychology of women through an intersectional theoretical framework. Throughout the course, students will learn how the field of psychology and related social sciences have studied the effects of social, cultural, and political influences on the socialization of girls and women. Students will explore how such paradigms, specifically the intersections of race, class, and gender, affect psychological, social, and environmental outcomes for girls and women, nationally and internationally. Satisfies Psychology major requirement. Satisfies Gender and Sexuality Studies major and minor requirement. Satisfies Social-Scientific Thought requirement.
