Psychological Research: Quantitative

Catalog description
This course provides an overview of the wide variety of quantitative methods used within psychological research. Topics may include survey design and psychometrics, multilevel modeling, and other advanced quantitative techniques. Rather than examining a single methodology in depth, the course introduces a selection of advanced techniques by exploring the research problems they were developed to address, why they are needed, and how they are implemented using R software. Students will gain experience applying these methods to psychological datasets in R , culminating in an independent analysis of an open-source dataset using an appropriate method covered in the course. Satisfies Psychology major requirement. Satisfies Data Science minor requirement. Prerequisites & Notes PSY 200 or permission of the instructor.
