Politics of Reproduction

Catalog description

This seminar examines political and policy questions regarding reproductive politics such as contraception, access to abortion, eugenics, artificial reproductive technology, egg donation, sperm banking, stem cell technology, sex education and surrogacy. The politics of reproduction touches on nearly all avenues of politics: policymaking, public opinion, framing, activism, legislation, constitutional questions, and elections. Satisfies the Social-Scientific Thought requirement. Satisfies a requirement in the Gender and Sexuality Studies major and minor (Society & Politics Track). Prerequisites & Notes Permission of the instructor required.
