This course analyzes the political messages and discussions within some of Latin America’s most widely read works of fiction. The course also examines the broader political, economic, and social context in which these stories take place. The novels will be read in English translation. Satisfies the cultural diversity requirement. Satisfies a major requirement in Latin American Studies.
