US Environmental Politics and Policy

Catalog description
This course will explore the political challenges and opportunities associated with environmental problems in the United States. Through in-depth cases and role-playing simulations at the local, state, and national levels, students study the competing interests, values, narratives, and knowledge claims in the politics of energy, pollution, natural resources, biodiversity, and climate change. Satisfies a major or interdisciplinary minor requirement in Communication Studies. Satisfies depth and breadth course requirement in Social Science track of the Environmental Studies major or interdisciplinary minor. Satisfies the Social-Scientific Thought requirement. Prerequisites & Notes Offered every other year, in rotation with POL 398.
