Examine how markets and institutions allocate capital and share risk. Use economic equilibrium as a unifying framework for scrutinizing topics such as asset pricing, investment decisions, mergers and acquisitions, and the roles of intermediaries such as investment banks and asset managers. In a liberal arts context, this course is tailored for ambitious and passionate learners who prioritize lasting skill development over rote memorization of facts and concepts; develop critical thinking and problem solving skills by reasoning from models to evidence; communicate with precision; analyze interactions between the financial sector and society as a whole. Prerequisites & Notes Economics 101 and Economics 204.
