Catalog description

Focuses on the application of economic tools to the evaluation of environmental amenities, the analysis of pollution control policies, the uses of renewable and nonrenewable resources, and the protection of biodiversity. Examines the strengths and weaknesses of the economic approach to those issues. Satisfies the Social-Scientific Thought requirement. Satisfies depth and breadth course requirement in the Social Science Track of the Environmental Studies major or interdisciplinary minor. Prerequisites & Notes Economics 101 required; Calculus I or equivalent recommended.
