Catalog description

An introduction to the fundamental skills of dancemaking, this course explores the development and crafting of movement for performance. Examining a range of compositional methods and performance approaches, students will develop the basic tools for dance choreography. Coursework will include studio practice, readings, performance viewings, and written assignments. Students entering 2012 and after: satisfies Visual and Performing Arts requirement. Students entering before 2012: satisfies Fine Arts requirement. Prerequisites & Notes DAN 240 or permission of the instructor.
